So, I bought a Walkman a year ago, figuring that Sony would of course make accessories (clock radios, etc) for their own products. Wow! Imagine my surprise when I found out they only make iPOD accessories. Even though I love how the walkman works, WHY would you ever buy one, if you can’t get accessories! What an incredibility STUPID company. I wrote an email to them an got no response. So, I will never again buy another Sony product.

Stay away from Sony products, they’ll leave you in the cold!

This order in particular was actually lost in the mail. 3 days before Christmas I was wondering where my package was. This was a Christmas gift for someone. So, I called Amazon.com and they sent out a replacement which came the next day, which was great. I was just disappointed that I had to worry about getting it on time especially when I placed the order in way enough ahead of time to make it to my house by Christmas. The tracking que was never updated up until Dec 22nd when I started to worry about my order.

However, my boyfriend absolutely loves his new Sony Walkman. The product. 5 stars…. the mailing hassle, order time and lengthy delivery. 1 star.

I had it for less than a month before it died. The video wasn’t very good and the formats that it plays is also limited. I resisted for as long as possible but now I know why Apple rules the MP3 world. I paid a more for the Touch and it’s superior in every way possible better screen, better build and sound quality.

Too bad this is such a cheap build because the speakers were a cool feature and the battery life was excellent.

Also like the touch this device is not expandable, trust me spend a little more and avoid this cheap producr especially if you ever want to watch video.

The seller sent an email and said that the item was listed wrongly. Instead of telling me if the item was available or still in-stock, the seller tried to sell me a different item at a 60% higher price. It was ridiculous and unacceptable.

NOTE: After sending an inquiry to the seller, the seller still did not answer if the item was available.

I have been a sony products fan for years, purchased their tv’s , first walkmen, every playstation , multiple surround sound systems and home stereos YET SONY.

    I quit.

I truely believe that companys no longer make a product’s value bargain full.

The operating system on this mp3 is terrible, it is almost like they force you into upgrading to the X Series Walkman®.

I even found that software version 1.0 is upsetting and boring. The built in microphone is terrible.

I was mislead by this as I found my blackberry bold I evaluated to be a better purchase than either of the sony mp3/recording products I have purchased, and returned.

The sad thing , I tried each sony product out prior to the major purchase of a 600 dollar cellular phone.

Usually I had considered sony to be a company to make the pro-sumer style product as they were the pioneer to bring night vision to pro-sumer style video equiptment.

I expected the quality of the X series walkman to have recording properties similar to their PCM-M10/B the personal portable field recorder, yet no. It failed

it worked worse than a early 90’s tape recording device I had for recording lecture notes, I got that from my mother back when she was in college…THAT THING IS ANCIENT!

Ok , I can’t say that, my mother would be pissed.

But back on to the review, buy the ECM-DS70P Electret Condenser Stereo Microphone and plug it in to the non existent recording input and I am sure your 3 and a half hour lecture will sound great…so great you won’t understand it.

SONY. WHY? WHY would your product go this low on my expectations, really Can you make a pro-sumer based mp3 recording device that is suitable

    for a Broadcasting Studio Engineering student…what A let down…

I now see why there are so many apple devoted consumers at a growing number, they listen to their customers and they hire ergonomic engineers

For the cost I believe the technology of the Portable Digital Field Recorder ($399)The 32GB X Series Walkman® MP3 Player ($399) and the ($109) ECM-CR120 Business Micrphone should have been included for the $399 price, after all apple did it with their iphone, and on top of that , UNLOCKED I could even make wi-fi calls with vonage.

The if you want a multipurpose device don’t go to this one sorry, and what a bad deal.

This purchase was the first mistake before an even bigger disappointment of purchasing the X series 32 gb.
